Accident Rate Prediction Model for Urban Expressway Underwater Tunnel

Urban tunnels often easily become traffic bottlenecks. Once accidents occur, congestion, environmental pollution, personnel and property damage other problems restrict the sustainable development of tunnels. In order to reveal factors affecting incidence tunnel accidents, this paper quantitatively analyzes influence single geometric conditions control measures on in Jiaozhou Bay underwater tunnel. The study examines distribution patterns under three dual-factor combinations: road gradient curve radius, slope length, proportion distance bottom slope. Based this, a comprehensive index model is constructed using negative binomial regression calculate accident occurrence rate measures. data after second lining are selected as validation object. actual compared with model’s calculated value verify feasibility study. results indicate that high gradient, long proximity slope, straight downhill sections have significant impact accidents. Lane change signs can effectively reduce by 30–40%. percentage errors left- right-lane prediction models within (−30%, 30%) (−20%, 30%), respectively, which assist design tunnels, offering valuable guidance contributions construction safer, more efficient, urban transportation systems.
